The history of Bruxo X. artisanal mezcal.
The artisanal mezcal BRUXO X is CULT –
We never thought that this trip to the mountains would change our lives so much.
We set out to worship the mezcal tradition and share its magic with the world.
That’s how Bruxo was born, as a:
- Cult to the magic of mezcal, a common language between the earthly and the sacred.
- Cult to the mysticism of the legends we have encountered and of which we are already a part.
- Worship to those in the mountains who know and share their ancestral heritage with the contemporary world.
- I worship those of us who, in the cities, are capable of transforming any moment into an eternal memory.
- Cult to the true Elixirs, unique mezcals, special, like no other.
BRUXO is MAGIC –
We try to discover the meaning of magic and we find that everything around us is full of magic. As a source of knowledge, as an ancestral legacy. To believe, to grow, to be surprised, to dance, to sing, to be yourself, is to surrender to life.
Do something so unexpected, you’ll be amazed. He who puts his magic in everything he does.
Every step he takes, every experience he lives and shares with those around him.
It is part of our Bruxo cult.
BRUXO is RESPECT –
Bruxo is dedicated to those who, through their wisdom, understand time and the goodness of the earth.
Not only of those who make it, but also of those who drink it. Bruxo is a cult for the artisanal and authentic mezcal process.
We are proud to take what nature gives us and give it back in the best way, through the communities and their wisdom that is felt in every sip.
What is the elaboration process?
Juan Flores García, son of Lucio Morales, master mezcalero of Bruxo, is the creator of this Bruxo X Mezcal.
Its delicacy contrasts with its potency from the very ripe Espadín agave. When the quiote grows, it is cut and the pineapple is left for several additional months in the ground in order to be loaded with natural sugars. The combination of the two varieties of agaves (Espadín and Barril) gives it a wonderful body.
- Cutting: The stalks of the agave are cut and the pineapple is extracted from the earth.
- Baking: The pineapples are baked with wood for 3 to 7 days in a conical stone oven.
- Milling: Extraction of the honeys to obtain the must through a crusher or hand milling.
- Fermentation: It is left to ferment naturally in a wooden or plastic vat for 7 to 13 days.
- Distillation: Double distillation in copper stills or earthenware pots.
