The history of Tequila Jose Cuervo begins in 1758 when Don Jose Antonio de Cuervo y Valdes obtains the title of Land Property, whose main activity was the cultivation of agave. In 1795, Don José María Guadalupe de Cuervo y Montaño obtained the first license to produce and distribute tequila. This year is considered the birth of the long tradition of Tequila Jose Cuervo.

In 1812 “La Rojeña” was born, a hacienda and distillery, which by 1842 began to stand out with a production that reached 400 barrels per week.
