Fortaleza Reposado Tequila is a relatively new brand of tequila, launched in 2005. However, they have a long tradition, since the producer, Tequila Los Abuelos, has more than 140 years of experience in the production of tequila. The brand is made with old world machinery and processes, which results in unique and high quality tequilas.

What is Fortaleza Reposado Tequila like?

It is a 100% agave reposado tequila, produced by La Fortaleza Distillery in Mexico. It is produced by double distillation in copper pots and each batch is aged individually in used American oak barrels for 7 to 8 months. It has an alcohol content of 40% and a volume of 70 cl.

How does it look and smell?

Tequila Fortaleza Reposado has a pale yellow color with slightly amber reflections, very clean. As for its aroma, citrus notes, dulce de leche, butter, cooked agave and sage can be distinguished.

What are your flavors?

On the palate, Fortaleza Reposado Tequila has flavors of cooked agave, citrus, vanilla, apple, earth and cinnamon. The finish is long and rich, with spicy nuances and an oily texture that makes it pleasing to the palate.

How is it made?

It is made through a traditional process, which includes crushing the agave in stone and cooking it in a stone/brick oven. A double distillation is carried out in copper pots, which gives it its unique and distinctive flavor.
